Mastering the Management of Cold Agglutinin Disease With Complement Inhibition: Harnessing Advances in Disease Understanding and Treatment to Improve Patient Care and Outcomes

Curriculum Description

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) has traditionally been considered the simplest and most scholastic example of antibody-mediated autoimmune disease. Cold agglutinin disease, also known as primary CAD, is a specific AIHA that is a clonal B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in which the hemolytic process is entirely complement dependent. Individuals living with this disorder experience chronic anemia and profound fatigue, which have a persistent and serious impact on their lives. Retrospective analyses have also demonstrated other potential complications for patients with CAD, including an increased risk of thromboembolic events and early mortality.

This collection of PeerView activities presents a well-rounded look at evidence-based strategies for diagnosing and treating patients with CAD, through digestible self-study activities featuring experts as well as patients with CAD. Click through the listed titles to explore topics and tools pertinent to the management of CAD in your clinical practice!
